You’ve signed up for a maintenance plan or an SEO plan with us. Congratulations, and welcome aboard! Now what? What does onboarding entail, and why are we doing it? Here at Curious Minds, our onboarding process provides you and our developers with the information needed to ensure we have what we need to jump right into your site, and you have the information you need stop worrying about your site, and can instead focus on other, more important items.
The Onboarding Process
The first step in the onboarding process is to gather information from you, our client. The sooner we have everything we need to access and maintain your site, the sooner we can get started and make your life easier. Some of what we need includes admin access to your WordPress site, who is going to be in contact with us via our support portal, hosting account access, and Google property access, if applicable. And did I mention a list of any pain points or tasks you’d like our developers to look into? Because we’ll need those, too. All of the information we require to maintain your site will be listed in an onboarding ticket within our support portal. Our support portal is our primary source of contact between you and our developers. Anything you need or can think of can be submitted as a ticket in our support portal. Our developers will see and can act accordingly.
The next step is meeting with the development team who will be maintaining your site. Why do we need to have a meeting, if we’re already gathering information via our support portal? At Curious Minds, we pride ourselves on providing a more personal experience for you. You know what our developers look like, their names, what they sound like, and in some cases, you even meet our pets. My dog has personally aided in a few meetings. Our onboarding meeting is also when you officially meet me, your Customer Success Manager, so if you do find you need anything going forward, you know who to contact. And don’t worry, I’ll be checking in to make sure you’re happy. But most importantly, you know exactly who is working on your site. We take the confusion and complications out of the equation so you don't have to stress.
Ready to Work
Once we have all of the information in the support ticket, and the onboarding process is officially complete, we can hand off your site to your dedicated developer. Remember those initial pain points and tasks I mentioned that we ask for in your onboarding ticket? We submit those as individual tickets so your developer can get right to work. If we have questions, or need feedback, you can see that in the ticket, and you can respond right back.
Depending on your plan level, part of the onboarding process involves setting up a dedicated Slack channel, where you can directly communicate with our developers as an additional level of communication. This perk is for our Enterprise clients, but if you find you need additional support and care, changing your plan is easy. All you have to do is ask!
Keep it Simple
The onboarding process at Curious Minds is designed to be simple and provide us with the tools needed so we can provide you with peace of mind. Peace of mind when it comes to your site is of the utmost importance to us. When you sign up for a maintenance plan with us, you never have to worry about remembering where everything is, all of the passwords required, what plugins need to be updated, and even how you’re ranking when it comes to SEO. Did I mention we also offer SEO services? It’s all part of providing you with the best possible experience, so you can focus on your business, while we focus on your site. And if you ever have any questions, I’m always a quick message or phone call away.
